Power Coating

Power Coating

One process we use here at Oxford Wheel Repairs to refurbish wheels is powder coating. Not only is it a faster process it is far more durable than wet painting. The wheels are first stripped of tyres and wheel weights. They then go into a paint stripping bath to remove all paint and corrosion. The next stage of the process is vapour blasting to get the wheel as clean as possible ready for the paint application. Wheels are then powder coated with zinc rich primer, allowed to cool and then coloured. Finally, they're finished in a very durable powder coat lacquer. Custom colour changes are also available with our powder coating process, so you can change the colour of your wheels to whatever takes your fancy.
